|Star Wars’ Dublin Auditions Moved to Croke Park this Sat 23rd & Sun 24th November|
Dublin auditions for two major roles in ‘Star Wars: Episode VII’ have been moved to Croke Park Stadium this Sat 23rd and Sun 24th November, in a change to the original venue of Filmbase in Temple Bar due to the enormous crowds expected to attend.
The auditions will take place between 11am and 3pm, with entry via St Joseph’s Avenue gate off Conliffe Road, Dublin, from 8am onwards – and overnight camping & queuing strictly prohibited due to the extreme weather conditions.
Whereas the previous casting announcement had ambiguously referred to a major Disney movie, Ms Claire Curry of UK Casting Call has now confirmed that the auditions are indeed for ‘Star Wars’.
Women aged 17-18 years old and men 19-23 years old are being sought for the two roles – so lifelong middle-aged Star Wars fans are advised that they may be wasting their time turning up dressed like Jedi knights, lightsabers in hand.
Applicants are advised to bring along a headshot photo of themselves, but it need not be professionally taken.
The following are the two casting descriptions for anyone who missed them first time round:
Seeking: Young woman to play 17-18 Years old. Must be beautiful, smart and athletic. Open to all ethnicities (including bi- and multi-racial). Must be 16 or over.
Seeking:Young man to play 19-23 years old. Must be handsome, smart and athletic. Must be 18 or over.
Has grown up without a father’s influence. Without the model of being a man, he doesn’t have the strongest sense of himself. Despite this, he is smart, capable and shows courage when it is needed. He can appreciate the absurdities in life and understands you can’t take life too seriously.
Between 9.00am and 5.00pm, anyone who thinks they have what it takes to become a global star can come to the Liffey Trust Studios, Liffey Trust Centre, North Wall, Dublin 1, and have their performance filmed by the Britain’s Got Talent crew.
Successful acts will go through to the next round of auditions and perform live in front of the Britain’s Got Talent judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams next year.
The hit ITV show discovered some exceptional talent for the 2013 series, which saw shadow dancers Attraction crowned winners at the glittering final in June.
Watched by over 17 million viewers, the final was one of the live entertainment moments of the year with acts like Richard & Adam, Jack Carroll and Luminites making it one of the best and most talked about series of Britain’s Got Talent ever.
Speaking of this year’s quest for new talent, show creator and judge Simon Cowell said “This year I want even bigger and better than before.
We want the sensational, the original and of course the best. I want something that I’ve never seen before.”
November 7th 2013.

KEVIN (KIT) is JOHN, the Lead’s brother. He has Down Syndrome. He is bubbly and a little bit quirky. He is able to express himself clearly and his condition does not hold him back. He loves cars. On his birthday, JOHN brings him a Top Gear Magazine.

Looking for for a mixed race Indian/Pakistani- Irish Boy for a Short-Film ‘ANYWHERE BUT HERE’ for Louise Kiely Casting.
Please email Pamela@take2.ie
JAMES M 15, mixed race Irish/Indian. An enigmatic kid,but haunted and a bit odd. There is definitely something intriguing about him – something that makes you want to know more. He is described as a “good looking kid, but he is broken somehow. His eyes are haunted by disappointment” Needs to be comfortable in (cold!) water.
Shoot: January 7th 8th and 9th , Location: East Coast Ireland – County Dublin/Wicklow.
We open on a Seaside town, Belharbour Fishing Village”. We meet JAMES 15, a mixed race Indian/White young man. He is new to this town. At the top of the story, we see him pull a book out of the water with his net. It is a copy of The Idiot by Dostoyevsky. Early in the story, he meets firey STACY and introduces her to his Japanese Spider Crab, Bernard. We follow him home to his distant father PAT, an Artist and MICHAEL, a local who intends to buy a calf from him. We learn that JAMES’ Mom died when he was ten and when she was around, times appeared happier. JAMES and STACEY form an unlikely friendship. He starts school and it is clear that scholastically he is behind the other young people. He gets bullied by schoolmates, TJ and MARK. In frustration he tries to communicate with his father but to no avail. As STACEY and JAMES become closer, we learn that JAMES’ Mom has a dark past that has coloured JAMES’ present and PAT’s future. A tender yet evocative piece about two young people growing up and moving forward. Written with loving finesse, this is a character driven piece in a fully drawn world.

“Show Off Or Get Off” is hitting the road again in search of talented 8-13 year olds.
Following the huge success of last years’ nationwide talent search, the “Show Off Or Get Off” team are preparing to hit the road once again in the hope of finding Ireland’s most talented and entertaining 8-13 year olds. The “Show Off Or Get Off” winner will get to perform their winning act live on RTÉ’s Elev8 and will also get to co-host the show for a day!
We are looking for all types of acts! Singers, dancers, comedians, unicyclists, jugglers… all are welcome!
How the process works:
The production team will travel to the nationwide locations to film the auditions. All auditions will be filmed on the day and will be given an equal opportunity to perform in front of the cameras. The auditions will be done strictly on a first come first served basis. In order to keep wait times to a minimum, all acts will be restricted to one minute. After filming has taken place across the twelve locations, the producers will select five acts from each location. The five acts selected will be shown on Elev8 along with a clip depicting the entire day’s filming. Although we would love to include everybody who auditions, this is simply not possible. We will do our best to try and include as many acts as we can. The elev8 audience will then have a week to cast their online vote for their favourite act. The two acts from each location that received the most votes from each location will progress to the next round of the competition.
The auditions will travel to a number of locations around the country including:

Entrants wishing to use backing music must provide a CD copy of any music used for the producers, this copy will not be returned. The crew will provide CD players, however auditionees are responsible for any other necessary props, materials or instruments used in their audition, either as part of the act or as needed to insure the safety of all involved. MP3 players/mobile phones without adequate speakers will not be accepted.
Acts with any unusual or large props, as well as those who may need a large performance space are asked to contact the producers of the show before auditioning.

Acts will be auditioned on a first come, first served basis. Acts that cannot be facilitated will be notified of another audition centre that they can attend on a later date.
